My pledge to District 3

As your dedicated school board member, I am committed to bringing real change and open communication to our district. Here's what I promise to deliver for our students, teachers, and families.

Experience that delivers

My extensive experience in mental health and child advocacy uniquely positions me to fulfill these promises. With 23 years of working with families and students, referred by FINS of Winn Parish, I bring a deep understanding of our community's needs. I am one of only 30 clinicians in Louisiana with advanced training from LSU Health Sciences and Tulane University School of Psychology. I also served as a Court Appointed Special Advocate for Children for Northeast Louisiana, successfully helping three children be placed in their mother's home. I own Wings of Eagles Behavioral Health, my private practice, and have started Wings of Eagles Education Group LLC. This company focuses on innovative teaching methods for public schools, homeschool programs (secular and faith-based), and specialized programs for special needs students, adult education, GED, college prep, and CEUs for teachers covering bullying, suicide prevention, and human trafficking.

My commitment to our schools and School Counselors has been demonstrated through organizing training for school counselors and school psychologists lead by experts in teen suicide and tools that help to be better informed.

Communication and transparency: My top priority

My primary pledge is to enhance communication and transparency within District 3. I will achieve this by:

  1. Presenting a proposal to the board within the first 30 days to establish a district-wide "24-Hour Call Back Policy," ensuring all student progress calls are returned within 24 hours.
  2. Communicating directly with families in District 3 by establishing a Parent Advisory Group to inform me of district concerns.
  3. Changing our board meetings to accommodate working families, moving away from the current 11 AM schedule.
  4. Suggesting that the new board hold meetings at one of the four schools in the district once a quarter, bringing governance closer to our communities.
  5. Addressing concerns brought to my attention within 24 hours.
  6. Addressing wasteful spending to regain the trust of Jackson Parish citizens through unannounced audits.
  7. Keeping our students, teachers, and staff safe through the latest evidence-based training and drills, in collaboration with the Jackson Parish Sheriff's Office and our Student Resource Officers (SROs).
